Time warp with angels assistance

John Paul Jackson and Bob Jones were transported instantly in a truck from the hotel to the airport, a distance of 20 miles – as told by John Paul Jackson

Once we almost missed a flight.  We had to fly from Birmingham, Alabama, to Atlanta, Georgia, on an early morning flight in order to drive an hour and a half to Macon, a small city in Georgia.  We were scheduled to speak at a conference there.  Bob, his wife, and I had ministered until very late the night before in Birmingham.  By the time we had finished ministering, it was already 2 am.

When we came back to our hotel, we were told it would take 20 minutes to get to the airport.  Our flight was at 6 am, so we decided to fall asleep fully dressed for tomorrow so that we would be ready on time.  Because we were so tired, we fell asleep as soon as we lay down on our beds.

At dawn, someone knocked excitedly at my door, and I asked, “Who is it?” Bob answered, and I asked, “What time is it?”  He yelled, “John Paul, it’s 5:55 am!”  Later he told me that while he was lying on his bed, he fell asleep.  An angel shook him and said, “If you don’t get up, we’ll miss the flight.”  When Bob looked at a clock, it was almost 6 am.  He thought, “Oh, we missed the flight!”

Then a thought occurred to him: “If we were going to miss the flight anyway, why would an angel wake me up?”  With that thought, he sprang out of bed and knocked loudly on my door.  I said, “Bob, there is no way we’re going to make it.  It takes 20 minutes to get to the airport.”  My friend Bob replied, “We’ve got to try!  Maybe God will delay the plane.”

So we ran out of the hotel and threw our bags in the back of Bob’s red pickup truck.  As Bob drove us to the airport, two men came up to us.  They took our bags out of the truck in a hurry and said, “We’ll park the car.  Run to the gate!” So we ran inside the airport toward the gate.  At that time in 1987, we were able to go straight to the departure gate without stopping at a security booth.

We boarded the plane that was stationed there.  Right before we boarded, I looked at a wall clock that indicated it was exactly 5:59 am!  “What’s going on?  Did my clock go wrong?  Or did Bob’s clock go wrong?”  After we boarded, found our seats, and buckled up, I looked at my watch.  It was 6 am.  My watch was not dead.  Right before we boarded, it was 5:59 am, and after I sat in my seat, it was 6 am, so my watch was correct.

Then I said to Bob, “Bob, do you realize it took us less than two minutes to get from our hotel to the airport, a distance of 20 miles?”  Bob said, puzzled, “Yes, I was thinking the same thing.”  Then he asked me, “When did you call those guys to take care of our bags and my truck?”  Astounded, I said, “I didn’t call those guys. I thought you did because you were a little late coming out of the hotel.”  Bob said, “I’ve never seen them before.”  I looked at him and said, “I’ve never met them in my life either.”

When we reached Macon, our bags were the first to come off the luggage belt.  At the conference, the Holy Spirit worked mightily among the people.  Three days later, while we were flying back to Birmingham, I asked Bob, “Bob, it must have been an angel that told us they’d park your red pickup truck.  What if it’s missing?  Or if it’s parked somewhere, where can we find it?”

Bob replied sleepily, “John, I’m very tired. I cannot think straight.”  And he began to prophesy boldly, “My pickup truck is parked in the first parking space in the airport.  And the keys are tucked above the visor on the driver’s side.”  Then he fell asleep.

When we got off the airplane and headed toward the parking lot, Bob’s red pickup truck was parked in the very first parking space, just as Bob said.  Likewise, his keys were tucked above the visor on the driver’s side.  So, while we were in Bob’s red pickup truck, God had miraculously transported us instantly to the airport—Bob, his wife, myself, and the pickup truck!
