Who ever thinks about hearts?

27 Nov
Abba!!!

I’ve often said, “If you want to be a good leader you must be a student of the heart.”  We must study God’s heart, our heart, and others’ hearts.  We must study to see what makes a heart tick.  What opens up a heart?  What shuts it down?  What makes our heart ask for more?  What makes our heart blurt out, “Back-off.”  Exploring this topic is necessary schooling for all leaders.

I’ve written about this in a previous post, entitled: A good leader must be a student of the heart.

It’s important to consider how we ‘come across’ as we give Him away to others.

All human hearts are hard wired to respond to His presence.  It’s the, “Daddy!”- syndrome.  It’s the “Abba” response when we feel Him.  Everyone wants to be loved by their daddy.  So when we carry Daddy’s presence well and give Him away well, the scales of favor are already tipped in our direction.  People’s hearts are already predispositioned to want Him.  Funny how God made it easy for us to be successful if we just do it His way.

So in as much as we can carry Father God in our communication and the giving of our hearts, we will experience more favor!  Let the reader understand!  And that just makes us love Him even more!  Thank You, Abba!

Do you understand the language of ‘feather’?

25 Nov

“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge”… “He shall give His angels charge over you in all of your ways!” – Ps 91:4,11

In our recent meetings in Taipei, Taiwan, I asked everyone how many languages God can employ to speak to them.  We all know He uses His Word, dreams, prophetic, numbers, etc… but feathers can also be one of the languages that God uses to speaks to us.

        “That was me!!!”

For an example, I told of a special story that happened about ten years ago when I was talking about angels to a group of Asians from Taiwan who were visiting IHOP in Kansas City.  I was their guest speaker for the whole day.  At the end of the day, we were talking about angels and as I was standing at the front row of chairs a feather drifted down out of the ceiling immediately in front of me.  I licked my finger and caught it and was going to

       Joy in the room

give it to the lady sitting in the 2nd row directly in front of me.  I first asked her name and to our amazement, she said her name was Angel.  We all laughed and marveled at how perfectly God had orchestrated that situation to confirm our conversation.  I have told that story many times and had no idea who Angel was or what church or city she was from in Taiwan or even what she looked like.

Last weekend, I was aware that a lady named Angel was sitting in the 2nd row of our meeting, so I thought it would be good to tell that 10 year old angel story.  When I finished telling the story, she exclaimed, “That was me!”, 10 years ago.  At that news, there was a sudden shift in the atmosphere of the room.  Joy and laughter began to trickle through the group.  So, I called Angel up with me and we blessed the angels of joy to minister to the group.  The whole group rode that euphoric ‘joy-wave’ for over 10 minutes!  It was an unusual manifestation of joy and freedom.

       Feather ‘portfolio’

We were all stunned with how God had used that angel feather story again.  Angel said since that time 10 years ago, feathers have shown up for her at ‘supernatural timing’, ever since.  Here are several pics of her and me, including one with her ‘portfolio’ of some of the feathers she has found.

Tina’s life – a sweet reward

22 Nov

Here’s another recent Taiwan story that melts my heart.  Tina and I hadn’t talked with each other or seen each other for 16 years. What a joy to hear her gratitude and her victorious journey.  Here is her FB message to me – in her own words.

In July 2009, you brought your family to Taiwan and went to Living Water Church.  At that time, there was a 72-hour non-stop prayer meeting. I was in college at the time and I was experiencing a lot of stress about our xxxxxx values.  When I went to the prayer room that day, I was deciding to make some not-so-good choices.  I think you don’t know me, but you come directly to me and tell me.

Tina, God wants me to tell you that you have chosen the wrong thing whether it is right or wrong.  But God wants to change you, not just a little bit, but everything.  God will give you glory and Mercy as new clothes, you will be a bridge.  God will change your family through your life, and they will know God.

I actually don’t feel like I have to share it with you, but I feel like I need to thank you today.  At that time, because of your words, I discovered that God knew every decision I made, and I felt the fear of God. But because of your words, I choose not to make the wrong choice about xxxxxx.  I began to learn to know God, but it actually took me a long time. I was still experiencing God’s guidance and healing.

No one in my family knew God at the time, and they were very broken.  But today, my father, mother, two brothers, and their wives were all baptized into knowing God. Their children are now learning to know God, too.  We have a family time every Friday night where we worship and pray together.  We are not perfect, we are all still experiencing God. But it just occurred to me to thank you for obeying what God said to me.

I’m sure you can imagine how impacting and heartfelt our face-to-face reconnection was a few nights ago!  Such wonderful joy and appreciation for the goodness of God in both of our lives.  Thank You, Father!
