Testimony: Huge Surprise – Mortgage paid off!

18 Oct

(This testimony is from a close friend)

Over 15 years ago, our family moved to another state to serve a ministry.  My wife and I felt like we should donate our small dream home to the ministry that we left.  Soon after, we purchased another home, by faith, using our retirement funds for the down payment.  We faithfully made payments for 14 years.

Recently, some of our dear friends (a precious couple) approached us with a radical thought: they wanted to pay off the remainder of our mortgage of $100k.  We were stunned, surprised, BLESSED… and mindful of the house we ‘sowed’ into our eternal bank account many years before.  (This action set off a chain reaction of blessings not only in our family but in their relationship.)

Jesus said, “Lay up treasures in Heaven where moth and rust don’t corrupt and thieves do not break through and steal.”  It’s really true… our Heavenly Father is the very best ‘banker’ and pays the highest dividends.  Thank you, God!

Don’t we all love hearing a great God-story. When my friend told me about his huge blessing, I quickly asked him if I could share it to encourage others… hopefully increasing their faith for God to do it in there lives, too!!!

I do too!!! There are so many negative voices out there, that we’ve got to be intentional to report God’s handiwork, reminding ourselves and others of how good He is!!!

Amen! Love that, “be intentional to report God’s handiwork.” Well said.

If I recall, didnt also ur son have a similar experience when looking at a home for sale? Very cool. Yeah, i still think it’s almost better not knowing which way confirmations come.

You’re right. They did have a similar experience. So cool!!!

If we’re too short-sighted we wear ourselves out requiring God to meet our narrow expectations. But if we can just relax, He’ll come through in his timing and in His way!!! As you say, it makes life more of an adventure that way. 🙂

Yes!!! I can vouch that life is way better than when ‘I was in charge’… trying to ‘make a living’ on my own. Thank you Lord!!!

Eager to see you and yours, soon… Dec 8

Kirb, God is better than we ever thought. And He likes showing off.
(II Chron 16:9) Sure be good to see you again, my friend!
