Dear Friends
Happy Thanksgiving!
“But THANKS be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place..” – II Cor 2:14 May your hearts, your homes and your families echo the myriad reasons that we have to be thankful to our awesome Savior!
Testimonies
About six weeks ago, Deb and I spent about 2 weeks up in the North country – MN, WI and IL. We ministered 12 times in 8 different venues.
Here are a few testimonies: Yay God!!
* We prayed for a couple who had been trying to have a baby for a year. The very next day they text a picture of a positive pregnancy test. What makes it even more cool is that they had received two negative tests earlier that week. Just last week Momma heard the baby’s heartbeat at the Dr’s office.
* A happy, tear-filled lady who had migraines for several years… shared that she came to meeting with one, but was suddenly and completely healed when prayed for.
* An older lady walked in with great difficulty using a walker and cane, suffering from fibromyalgia and neuropathy and a shoulder pain. When we all prayed she was healed, and was so ecstatic that she didn’t want to stop testifying… and walked out without using her walker, carrying her cane over her elbow.
* Saturday evening we had a hilarious time sharing and singing prophetic song over individuals… more laughs and joy than we’ve had in a long time! So FREEeee…
* Sunday night, lots of melted hearts and tears of joy as Jesus sang and spoke over them.
* Tues eve we met in a house church in my Illinois boyhood hometown. Two pastors (with wives) attended… my high school teacher and a school classmate… among others. Our hosts wanted a ‘linger longer’ meeting… where we just took our time loving on Jesus. And we did just that. There was lots of participation and hunger for more. We’ll doubtless be going back… which is strange because I have never had much faith for my little rural hometown. Hmmm. Jesus could change all that. Yes, Lord!
Redding Trip
A couple weeks ago Debbie and I attended the bi-annual Leaders Advance at Bethel Church. Not only was it a blast and a great boost of vision and inspiration, but we got to hang out with our kids: Luke & Sarah and Lydia… and that’s not all bad, if you know what I’m saying!! The last couple of days, Luke and I rallied a dozen ‘He-men’ to hike a couple of miles up a mountain to do He-men type stuff like climb rocks, walk felled trees over ravines, throw things, jest, spar, tell big stories, compete, swing on ropes around cliffs and lift small cars. I’m not really sure why men have to do that kind of stuff… maybe it’s just because it can be done. 🙂 On those same days, Debbie took Lydia on a memorable 3-day mother-daughter trip to Disneyland in LA where they got to ride crazy dizzying roller coasters and Lydia got to meet all her favorite fairy-tale princesses… and get their autographs, among other exciting things. Their smiles and the pictures indicate that the trip was over-the-top successful. 🙂
Philippines typhoon
We are pleased to say that none of Cheryl’s Filipino relatives were affected by the recent record setting typhoon. They live in the northern provinces of the northern island. The typhoon went through the mid-section of the country.
Testimony from a personal friend, Brian Longridge from Cebu City, Philippines
“We’re OKAY!!!!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for your prayers, words, not even tears can express our gratefulness.. The storm has turned more North, too far north to hit us, and it was like it became not what it was predicted here. We had to flee to Marco Polo, because it said w a storm that strength, over 300 kph,.(gusts were 380) a 7 m surge wud come and our house is 5 m high , the whole building shook. We all cried because we seriously thought we were dying…also latest news was because of the strength it wud Exit the Philippines in a Cat. 5. It was declared by CNN as the strongest typhoon ever recorded on the planet. YOUR PRAYERS DID IT, your faith… thank you, THANK YOU”– Brian

Honduras Trip in February
Daryl & Deb Billings and Debbie & I will be going to San Pedro Sula, Honduras. We’ll be ministering at a conference (or ‘congress’ as they call it). Then we’ll minister in village churches around the region during our 14 day trip. Among other goals, we plan to visit several orphanages. If you would like to contribute financially toward the poor and orphans, we’ll make sure that 100% gets directly applied to worthy needs.
San Diego trip
Most of the Hendrickson family will gather in San Diego next week to rally with other great friends, including Dave & Ann Clark, Mark & Tami Riley, Martin & Rebekah Neil, Walt & Julie Meyer & their family and other local friends to host ‘Christmas at Horton’ on Sat afternoon, Dec 7th. Horton Plaza is an upscale shopping mall in downtown SD. This is a special treat and a special ‘outside the four-walls’ expression of the Good News. Besides sharing Christmas music, we’ll infiltrate the mall by handing out restaurant coupons for free food, we’ll pass out 5000 copies of Julie Meyer’s new Christmas CD, and we’ll be buying impromptu gifts for mall shoppers. This is a no-strings-attached gift of God’s love… just because God loves the world! Let us know if you’re interested in joining and spreading the love!
In the days prior to Dec 7, we’ll join other groups around the city for nights of worship and God-encounters… stuff we love to be a part of.
Testimony from a recent house church
Paul (house church host) asked me to write a brief testimony about my healing on 11/9/13 at their home:
“The Lord brought strength and flexibility to my back. This is after 16 years of deterioration after a spinal fusion in 1997 (surgery was supposed to prevent my vertebrae slipping any more than the 2 centimeters it had already moved – due to a deformity I’ve had since birth). I had no physical therapy after the surgery due to insurance issues, so my overall health began to deteriorate.
Since arriving here at Bethel, I’ve had several face-to-face encounters with Jesus – lifting my heart to believe that ALL the promises I’ve had over the years and all the times I’ve been prayed for were not in vain.
Saturday night, I came to our small group. (God bless them!) I wasn’t expecting anything. As the worship continued – with such a sense of unity and agreement in the room – and His Presence seemed to increase with our praise – I was taken to a NEW PLACE OF REST. I felt safe and… well, unconditional love, really.
Then the Lord gave someone a word about me which led to prayer for my healing. Pain levels had intensified for 2 days before I came. I was exhausted when the night began, in a lot of pain and very stiff.
After prayer and my verbally coming into agreement with the GOOD that was happening – all of a sudden the pain levels went down. I had more flexibility in my neck and shoulders. And then – I COULD BEND OVER AND TOUCH MY TOES. (I’ve been doing this off and on today!) There’s a strength in my back that wasn’t there before. I can walk more freely – without feeling like I’m dragging my body around with me.
I think the Lord restored all the muscles in my back and torso. I know there is more healing to come, but what I received Saturday was a miracle. It used to be quite an ordeal to get up from a seated position. Now I just pop right up out of the chair!
People at the group didn’t know that I’d been crying out to God “Don’t pass me by! Don’t pass me by!” Saturday night, the Lord was very specific in answering that prayer – I heard someone say: “He has not passed you by. He has not passed you by.” I LOVE when He does that. Then you know – again – He does hear you.
My heart, my expectation has increased. A new level of Hope has taken hold. A new level of Wonder has me captivated. His face – which hasn’t changed – is still before me, but I’m seeing Him with new eyes. …in between touching my toes!”
A couple days later:
“My back still feels different. There’s a strength there I haven’t felt since…. I don’t know when. When I walk up the stairs to my apartment or walk around the complex I don’t feel like I’m dragging my body around anymore.
A metal plate and 2 screws are still in on the left side of my spine – I don’t know what kind of metal it is. But because last Saturday nite was SO unexpected – whatever He did to strengthen my back gives me hope to keep believing for a full healing.
Thanks again. It was wonderful worshipping with you. I’ve never experienced that level of agreement/unity in a group before – anywhere. It was glorious.”
Healthcare options
You have healthcare options. Christian Medi-Share is exempted from Obamacare requirements. Our family has been a member of Medi-Share for over 15 years. Its technically not insurance but a medical sharing program with other Believers. Each time we’ve needed medical assistance, Medi-Share completely fulfilled its commitment. Even though we comply where insurance is legally required (e.g., auto ins), I’m not fond of the idea of insuring myself by the world’s systems. But with Medi-Share, each month members are made aware of several names that their sharing amount goes to… which feels more like the Early Church culture of helping one another. Members are encouraged to write to and pray for these specific people.
In the interest of full disclosure to you, for every person who joins Medi-Share, the referrer receives a small referral fee if their name is mentioned at sign up. http://mychristiancare.org/exemption.aspx

Truly, your lives have been a living sacrifice unto the Lord, and you are an example of “he who the Son sets free, is free indeed.” And if anybody needs further proof, it is written….”you shall know them by their fruit.” Keep bearing the fruit of the Spirit, Mark and Debbie, that the Father may receive His Glory!!
